Description

This interactive virtual Q&A session aims to widen our perceptions of two of the most widely reported ongoing conflicts in the world today; the fight against so called 'Islamic State' (IS) in Iraq and Syria, and the civil conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

Within a 45 minute session, one for each conflict zone, the audience will be able to engage with two civilians on the ground via Skype, one on either 'side' of the conflict, as well as hear from the perspective of a 'western' policy expert for the region in question.

Following the interactive lecture a free drinks reception will be held in order to allow participants to debate/discuss the various perspectives they have heard with colleagues and friends.

We are three fourth year politics undergraduates currently in our final year at the Univeristy of Bath. We have organised this event as part of the University of Bath's 'Student Learning Associates Programme' which is run by the Students' Union, in partnership with the University, and provides funding from the Teaching Development Fund to support student-led projects to enhance learning and teaching activity at the University.
